"In 1959 sociologist Melvin Seeman published a paper, "On the Meaning of Alienation," wherein he constructed a model of alienation that consisted of five separate aspects: powerlessness, normlessness, meaninglessness, social isolation, and finally self-estrangement.
In 2011 J. Pascoe moved to Philadelphia to pursue an MFA and has since discovered the awesome and humbling powers such a city has on her day-to-day life."
